Cardiovascular and Pulmonary (CVP) Rehabilitation will become a distinct medical discipline that is an integral part of standard contemporary medical care, aided and supported by the establishment of FCVPR as the leading authority on CVP Rehabilitation in the state of Florida.

Today’s Answer:
Create a state-of-the-art disease/risk factor management model for persons with documented cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease as well as those with medical conditions that place them at risk.

  1. Educate the medical community on the benefits of CVP Rehabilitation and identify Physician Champions to aid in that objective.
  2. Educate insurance providers on the benefits of CVP Rehabilitation.
  3. Expand the inclusion criteria for patient referrals and reimbursement.
  4. Enhance public opinion and understanding of the benefits of CVP Rehabilitation.
  5. Partner with other organizations (medical and non-medical) to achieve objectives 1-4.
  6. Serve as a resource for colleagues and other health care professionals.
  7. Support licensure of Exercise Physiologists and certification of academic programs.
  8. Provide educational opportunities for professional colleagues via conferences, newsletters, teleconferences, etc.
  9. Encourage networking with affiliate organizations and other medical professional. organizations.
  10. Recruit new members including physicians, RNs, physician assistants, etc.
